Naked
Beggars - XXX

Rating: B
Most will know Naked Beggars as Cinderella's Eric Brittingham
and Jeff Labar's 'other band.' For those who have not kept up
with the times, however, this is no longer the case. Lebar
seems to have a hard time keeping the plug in the jug and the
band actually ousted him from Naked Beggars. The band continued
as a four-piece and has released an new CD that is less punky
and hard rock then their previous output.
While the press may have
began for the Beggars due to the Cinderella connection, the star
of the show is Eric's wife, Inga Brinttinham. On XXX, Inga
shows her vocal prowess. From the 60's surf style of album
opener "Never Runaway" to the ballad "Oh Daddy" to the rocking
"Pretty Boy" Inga is on fire. She sings with passion and
sassiness and provides an awesome amount of energy for the rest
of the band to feed off of.
Another standout track is
"Destiny" as one can feel that this band wants to make it bad
and are doing everything they can to fulfill what they believe
is there destiny. XXX includes all the hard rock one would
expect, however, the songs are well crafted and catch the ear as
easily as vocalist Inga and drummer Lisa Kossuth catch the eye.
This is Naked Beggars
showing a more mature and grown up side to their songwriting and
it works on many levels. The Beggars prove a more interesting
and viable band with the current line up. Head over to
www.nakedbeggars.com for more info on this tantalizing band.
