Jack Bruce & Robin Trower – Seven Moons
Big Daddy Records
www.trowerpower.com

Rating: B

Jack Bruce and Robin Trower have teamed up in the past and released a couple of decent albums. However, it has been years – make that decades since the two rock gods have worked together. Coming out of nowhere is a collection of eleven tunes that show, at times, the magic that can be made when you get two musical masters in the same room.

The album was recorded live in the studio and the feeling of a live performances comes through on the CD. While the music is more tilted to Bruce’s Cream past, the true star of the album is Robin Trower. He is a master of the six string and from the opening notes of "Seven Moons" to the final moment of "I’m Home" Trower is impressive. He overshadows Bruce from start to finish, proving his place as one of the best rockers to ever take the stage.

"Lives of Clay," "So Far to Yesterday" and "She’s Not the One" are the best of the bunch. The CD goes on a bit too long as about 8 of the 11 would have been enough. In other words, there is a tad bit of filler. However, if you are a Trower, Bruce or Cream fan then you will dig this disc.
