Fireball Ministry – Fireball Ministry

Rating: B
Fireball Ministry will release their fourth album in
March of 2010. The band is back after a short break
where members took time to focus on solo projects. The
change of scenery did them good. The self-titled album
is a conglomeration of metal tunes, pop tunes and rock
tunes. The band’s attitude of “if it rocks then it
rocks” seems to be working. Some hardcore fans may not
like the poppy tinge of tunes like “Kick Back” and
“Thought It Out” but the band are likely to gain more of
a following with such diverse songwriting. The cool
thing about Fireball Ministry is that while the songs
differ they still hold together and make a complete
album.
“Hard Lines,” “Followed by a Fall” and “Butcher, Faker,
Policy Maker” rock hard and will keep the old faithful
with their fists in the air. The Sabbath-esque opening
riff of “In Their Own Right” opens the best song on the
CD. Placed in last place on the disc Fireball Ministry
show they are confident reviewers and fans alike will be
making it all the way to the end of the disc.
This is a band that is getting more creative and
respected with each outing. The hard stuff shines over
their more pop oriented attempts and one hopes the band
realizes that they are metal band filled with snarls,
riffs and guitar solos.
