The Reggie Knighton Band – The
Reggie Knighton Band
Rock Candy Records
www.rockcandyrecords.com
Rating: D
I
suppose in the marijuana and cocaine filled studios of
the 1970’s space age songs such as “Rock ‘n’ Roll Alien,
“UFO” and “Clone In Love” seemed like a trippy, cool
idea. However, when looked at in hindsight, they are
just goofy. Time has not been kind to bands like The
Reggie Knighton Band. The music is part 10CC, part
Little River Band and part every other clichéd melodic
rock band that didn’t make it.
Rock Candy Records is dedicated to the craft of being
rock ‘n’ roll archeologists, and thank God for that as
they have unearthed many a forgotten gem and brought
them back to life. While many melodic rock nerds will
violently disagree with this review, as the CD has
gained a legendary status over the years, truth told,
this is a silly, dated and boring CD. Touted as a ‘hard
rock’ album, one wonders what they were listening too as
there is nothing hard rock about this CD at all.
At
the end of the day this one was not worth the time and
effort it took to remaster it.
