Quiet Riot – Setlist: The Very
Best of Quiet Riot Live
Legacy
www.legacyrecordings.com
Rating: B
Quiet Riot was one of the first
Kings of the Sunset Strip. After losing guitarist Randy
Rhoads to Ozzy Osbourne’s new band, Quiet Riot broke up,
regrouped, added some new blood and went on to release
the first debut album by a heavy metal band to reach # 1
on the charts. Now, all these years later, Legacy
Recordings has dug deep into the vaults and released a
collection of live cuts originally recorded in the
band’s heyday, 1983 and 1984. Six of the 12 tracks are
previously unreleased.
All the hits are included, such as
“Metal Health,” “Cum On Feel the Noize” and “Mama, Weer
All Crazee Now.” Album classics “Let’s Get Crazy,”
“Slick Black Cadillac,” “Party All Night,” “Run For
Cover,” “Love’s A Bitch” and “Gonna Have a Riot” remind
one just what a great live band Quiet Riot was. They
stand the metal test of time and are beloved by their
fans today just like they were in the beginning.
Quiet Riot’s career was a wild ride
of making it, screwing up, getting back together,
screwing up, revitalizing their career, screwing up and
then doing it all over again. Sadly, vocalist Kevin
Dubrow’s death has quieted the band, leaving a silence
that is missed in the world of rock. However, this CD
will go a long way in keeping Quiet Riot’s legacy alive
and well. Crank this one up and play it loud and often
– oh yeah, it is worth noting Legacy’s dedication to the
planet as this one is environmentally friendly with
online liner notes (written by yours truly).
