Little Caesar – Redemption
Grind That Axe Records

www.rockcandyrecords.com

Rating: B-

Remember that band that had the MTV hit with the Aretha remake of “Chain Chain Chain”?  They rocked.  What ever happened to them?  They were called Little Caesar and they kicked ass but they refused to play the corporate games and dress funny, tease their hair and look like fags.  The result? They were forgotten about.

Now, they are back as one of the debut records on Grind That Axe Records.  They still sound more like Molly Hatchet than Warrant but hell, that’s a good thing.  Just like before, the coolest songs are remakes.  “Every Picture Tells a Story” is meshed with the Stones “Happy” and LC takes on Joni Mitchell with a rousing rendition of the classic “Woodstock.”  As far as their own material goes the winners are “Just Like a Woman,” “Real Rock Drive,” “Sick and Tired” and “Same Old Story.”

This band would rock your socks off in a bar or small club.  Now that they are back together that wish could become a reality.  Check this one out for “Woodstock” alone.
