Bad Company – Hard Rock Live
Image Entertainment
www.badcompany.com

Rating: A

What do you get when you put Paul Rodgers, Simon Kirke and Mick Ralphs onstage?  Easy, you get all of the living members of the original Bad Company.  Throw in Lynn Sorensen and Howard Leese from Rodger’s solo band and you have the makings for one killer concert.

Bad Co has always has the songs.  Rodgers and Kirke have incredible chops while Ralphs has an uncanny way of playing guitar, often using his own created open tunings to produce his signature sound.  The band let no one down on the CD/DVD release.  All of the bands’ classics are performed including “Feel Like Makin’ Love,” “Movin’ On,” “Rock Steady,” “Can’t Get Enough,” “Shooting Star” and “Rock N Roll Fantasy.”  The inclusion of fan favorites “Gone, Gone, Gone,” “Simple Man,” “Ready For Love” and “Seagull” only add to the festivities.  Other great tunes played are “Good Lovin’ Gone Bad,” “Honey Child,” “Burnin’ Sky,” “Run With The Pack” and “Live For The Music.”  This is a true reunion and celebration of Bad Company’s musical output.  Each song is a crowd pleaser.

The trophy for best performance goes to Paul Rodgers.  He sings as good as, if not better than at any point in his illustrious career.  How this band, and this singer, are not in the Rock N Roll Hall of Fame is mind-boggling.  Want proof?  Then pick this one up and put the CD in your car and the DVD in your player, crank it up and rock out to one of the best super groups to ever take the stage.
