Joe Bonamassa – Live From The Royal Albert Hall
J&R Adventures
www.joebonamassa.com

Rating: A

Joe Bonamassa has finally accomplished what his fans have been waiting for: A masterpiece.  His career has been full of gems as he is a perfectionist who is creative and not afraid to take musical risks – a combination that can lead to greatness, but until this release he had not successfully shown just how much he is musically capable of.

He has taken the slow ride to fame, building a solid blues audience and latching onto the classic rock crowd as well.  He is now to the point where he can headline venues such as the Royal Albert Hall, and even invite a few famous friends to come out and play.

Eric Clapton joins Bonamassa and the crowd goes wild as the duo jam out Robert Johnson’s “Crossroads” (Bonamassa is born on the same day as the blues legend.)  As if that were not enough, Joe brings out John Paul Jones from Led Zeppelin fame.

Joe has electric songs, acoustic sets and even has grown the band to include horns.  However, as he expands his musical vocabulary, and vision, he does not forget where he came from as he jams out on ZZ Top’s “Just Got Paid” with the same passion as a teenager first learning the opening riff from “Smoke On the Water.”  Joe has raised the bar with this one and we can't wait to see what he does next.
