Beatles fans, specifically fans of the man with those round glasses, will jump for joy when they get this sucker. The DVD/Blu-ray comes with two documentaries on one disc.

First up is the 1972 classic Imagine film. Seeing this again brings one back to why John was so beloved by fans. Eagle Rock Entertainment handled this with white gloves and gave the re-release much love. John would be happy with the results.

The documentary gets hippie dippy in places but that’s okay. It was a time of freedom and experimentation and John and Yoko were not afraid to give something a try. In other words, too much weird Yoko stuff…but seeing the importance of the work as a whole, I forgive John for letting this happen.

The other feature comes from 2000 and it called Gimmie Some Truth. This one is not as known but it is actually very cool. The viewer gets to go behind the scenes to when the classic Imagine album was recorded. This is literally history in the making!  As heartwarming as the first disc is this disc is spellbinding.  Watching the future unfold is pretty amazing! As if that is not enough, Eagle Rock tossed on 20 minutes of bonus feature.

I am always impressed with Eagle Rock’s wonderful care and dedication to these types of projects. This one gets them a tip of the hat.  Well done!
