Rating: B

Oh baby, they are back! Iggy and the Stooges have made a classic sounding punky-rocky and Iggy-cocky album that sees the ORIGINAL punk god on the cover in a suicide vest, in red crosshairs—only Mr. Pop!

It was, are you ready for this, FORTY freaking years ago that Iggy and the Stooges released Raw Power.  So, it only took them 14,600 days, or so, to follow it up.  Hey…Iggy was kinda busy…

The Stooges, consisting of Iggy Pop, guitarist James Williamson,  drummer Scott "Rock Action" Asheton and newbie Mike Watt , who replaced the late Ron Asheton on bass, have lived up to expectations with this one.

The best songs are the title track and “Unfriendly World.”  However, the hilarious ode to large mammaries, “DD’s” is a fine tune as is the ethereal “The Departed,” which is creepy good at its best!

Iggy sums up the energy of the Stooges best when he states: "My motivation in making any record with the group at this point is no longer personal. It's just a pig-headed fucking thing I have that a real fucking group when they're an older group they also make fucking records. They don't just go and twiddle around on stage to make a bunch of fucking money..."

Iggy and the boys are back and they just make us feel good being back.  The fact that the albums doesn’t suck is a bonus!
