Foghat – Live in St. Pete
Foghat Records

www.foghat.net

Rating: B

The current version of Foghat is a powerhouse live band…much like the classic lineup.  Still around from the classic Foghat Live days are founding member and drummer Roger Earl and bass player Craig MacGregor.  Joining these two stalwarts are guitar and vocalist Charlie Huhn, from Ted Nugent’s band back in the 1970’s, as well as Humble Pie, and Bryan Bassett, who had played with Lonesome Dave, Wild Cherry and Molly Hatchet.  Bryan was handpicked by Dave when original guitarist Rod Price decided that he no longer wanted to tour in 1999.

Live in St. Pete is a straightforward, no B.S. boogie-filled slab of rock and roll that features eleven Foghat classics including the iconic Big Three songs “Slow Ride,” “I Just Want to Make Love You” and “Fool for the City.”  Foghat has many more killer songs on this sucker however, as proven by the rolling and rocking versions of “Road Fever ,” “My Babe,” “Drivin’ Wheel” and “Take Me to the River.”

This DVD shows a band that is still, after all of these decades, at the top of their game.  Every member gives his all, and blasts it out loudly and proudly for the enthusiastic crowd.  The set list is top notch and the sound is great.

Again, and it can’t be stressed enough, Foghat rocks.  This line-up of the band, as proven in this live 2011 concert film, is keeping their word that they will indeed roll till they’re old, and rock till they drop!

If watching this video does not make you get up and boogie…does not make you sing along…does not make you crank it up to 11 and does not make you buy a concert ticket the next time the band is near you…then you’re deaf.

This one hits the streets December 10th but you can order it now at http://www.foghat.net/merchandise.htm

Crank it up and enjoy!
