Wishbone Ash – Live in Geneva 1995

Angel Air Records

Rating: B+

Angel Air scores major points releasing this fine gem of a live album. By 1995, Wishbone Ash only contained Andy Powell from the famous lineups of the past. Powell was able to harness the fire and ice sound of the band and keep it pure. The proof is in the fine musicianship on this disc.

The track list contains many of Ash’s greatest hits, including “The King Will Come,” “Throw Down the Sword” and a medley of “Blind Eye,” “Lady Whiskey,” “Jail Bait,” “Phoenix” and “The Pilgrim.” There is a ton of amazing harmony solos and the band was cooking.

Wishbone Ash has a legacy of being an amazing live band and this album adds to that reputation. This is a true diamond in the rough.
